Risk! Risk! Risk anything! Care no more for the opinions of others, for those voices. Do the hardest thing on earth for you. Act for yourself.
Katherine Mansfield 1888-1923
Welcome to the Blueprint Blog! My intention here is write about the issues and observations of a woman who is closer to 60 than 40. I want to write about being in uncharted territory, a place where we have choices and opportunities that our mothers and grandmothers didn’t.
Having said that, I acknowledge that Katherine Mansfield was born in 1888 the same year my grandmother was born. She is an example of the fact there have always been women of powerfully independent attitudes who have lived to their full potential in the absence of the choices we have.
I’m looking forward to writing about living in the bush and the lane I live on, where incredibly there are four other women over 50, building houses, tending animals, growing veggies, collecting their own water and powering their endeavors by the sun. I’m excited to share my passion for simplicity and sustainability. I want to write about catching up with body and relationship changes in mid-life, about what really has changed, and have I caught up with it. What are the advantages and opportunities of being who I am now? This Blog is about sharing these observations and ideas and exploring with great curiosity what’s possible in living life to the fullest after 45.
What one thing can do for yourself today . . . one small risk, that says “I’m acting for myself!”
Today I started this Blog.
What’s your risk?
